The ADOC inmate search tool may be used to find an inmate if you know the individual's Alabama Institution Serial (AIS). The AIS is a unique six-digit number assigned to each inmate under the jurisdiction of the ADOC and is the quickest way to find any inmate in the state. Upon entering the AIS in the AIS number field, the only record returned in the result will be the one where the AIS number in the database exactly matches the data entered. Note that the inmate search database does not include information on inmates sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act.
